Palmetto real estate is a pleasant mix of Palmetto waterfront homes, Palmetto homes on golf course communities and the historic Florida homes of yesteryear. The first Palmetto properties of note were developed by Samuel Sparks Lamb who arrived in 1868 and subsequently named the town after his home state of South Carolina otherwise known as the Palmetto State.
